Chimaira
» Nothing Remains
To me, this song displays many of the elements we incorporate throughout each song on the record. I think that after hearing this song, people will hunger for more- thus the nine other songs on the record! Immediately after completion, we knew this was the song that had to open our new record.

» Save Ourselves
This was the first song written for the new record. Many of its elements shaped and influenced the entire writing process for Chimaira. This song breaks in with ferocity, and opens a new realm of energy and excitement for the "New Chimaira."

» Inside The Horror
Definitely a genre defining tune. Elements of classic metal, modern metal, and a new style of metal, never before heard by the masses, are all present. Song structure, complexity, and timing are brought to new levels on this one. A true "Heavy as Fuck" masterpiece.

» Salvation
Surefire proof that metal, heavier than pure steel, doesn't always have to be played at a million miles per hour. In this song, we've brought melody together with some of the heaviest riffs known to mankind..........the right way. There's no compromising our sound on this one, because we've created this sound. The perfect blend of bittersweet.

» Comatose

Surefire proof that metal, heavier than pure steel, also sounds great at a million miles per hour. I like this song a lot because it gives younger kids, who are new to extreme metal, a chance to hear Deicide-type riffs with a great recording for the first time. It also shows that suburban metal dudes who grew up with loving families in blue-collar neighborhoods, can still write bad-ass death metal tunes.

» Left For Dead
Complex, slithering-like riffage, complemented by blisteringly creative drum work, and vocals that should come with an anxiety attack warning label, are what you'll find throughout Left For Dead. Also one of the early songs written for our new record, it experiments with song structuring ideas unknown to most modern day metal bands. I would describe this one as both awesome, and extremely unique.

» Everything You Love
Constructed piece by piece over the entire course of our writing process, this song is truly a musical masterpiece This was the song that helped us realize that we not only needed to write songs, but we needed to write compositions. We realized that metal songs from the past, considered to be classic, were thick bodied, well thought out creations. Much like a novel, we wanted our songs to incorporate an introduction, body, elements of drama, action, passion, and finally...recollection. In my eyes, we hit the nail on the head.

» Bloodlust
Definitely my favorite song on the record due to it's many elements of greatness. All six of our instruments are woven tightly throughout this metal giant. I can say without arrogance, that this work will secure us a seat at the thrown in metal history. Because of its vast complexity, I recommend many back to back listens to fully understand the magnitude of this composition If I were told tomorrow that this song marked the culmination of our ability, I could walk away a satisfied man.

» Pray For All
Fast, slow, neck-breaking heavy, intricate and diverse....Pray For All has it all. Dismantled then reconstructed many times over, this song required extra special attention to detail. How to seamlessly combine blast-beat fast riffing and slow chugga chugga groove?...We did it. Want "Slayeresque" type riffs? Beat-down/sing-along chorus's? Massive time signature changes? And a suprise ending?....You got it. This song will be a crowd favorite.

» Lazarus
Our epic seven and a half minute closer, Lazarus is a roller coaster ride of emotions. Dedicated to the loss of a close friend, the lyrics are based upon dramatically tragic events. The song sores through ups and downs, leaving melancholy thoughts in the imagination of the listener. This was another song that required many months of brainstorming before it reached its climax. Obviously time well spent, or it may not have received the album closer crown.

Pass Out Of Existence
» Let Go
This was one of the last songs we wrote for this record. After completion we immediately knew it was going to start the record. Musically we were trying to come from the early 90's metal sound while lyrically we were trying to set the mood for the rest of the album. The lyrics to "Let Go" are about living your life in the past and concentrating on the bad things rather then moving forward.

» Dead Insde
The first and only song we wrote with all 6 members being in the room. Originally this song was over 8 minutes long and had a really interesting middle section that made for an amazing build up. In the end we felt it was best to "cut the fat" and not bore our listeners to death. There is a chance that we may play the extended version of the song one day as a special treat to our fans and to do something fun live.

» Severed
One of those songs where you walk into practice and you think: "I hate all of our songs, I just want to make something disgusting" 5 minutes later you somehow have a new song completed. That was "Severed" for us in a nutshell. The song has since grown into a lot more, and is one of our favorite songs to play live.

» Lumps
This song was written half in the studio and half at our rehearsal space. Since this is one of the more avant garde song titles I will give you a hint about what the song is about lyrically. Have you ever just treated a person that you care about the wrong way and spent years thinking about how much you just ruined the best thing you ever had in your life?

» Pass Out Of Existence
This is the title track and one of the more sonically diverse songs on the record. Wa combined a trash/groove sound with some elements of death metal, trip-hop, and trance and somehow it worked. To pass out of existence is a metaphor to disappear. A lot of times you just so get fed up with life and the peolpe that surround you that you want to be able to disappear forever.

» Abeo
This is an instumental Mark wrote on the spot one day in the studio while having a nervous break down.

» Sp Lit
This was the last song written and tracked for "P.O.O.E.". The song almost did not make it on to the record because of procrastination. This song is based on a story our producer Mudrock told us. He was dating a girl that went out of her way to fuck him over in the worst way. The story was so painfull to listen to that Mark was beyond inspired to write about it. He took Mudrock's story and just became evil with his lyrics to not only write a song peolpe could relate to, but to get some revenge on the account of his friend.

» Painting The White To Grey
Originally recorded for the EP "This present Darkness". "Painting" tells a story of someone trying to commit suicide. That about sums that song up.

» Taste My ...
This song was one of the most fun to write. We wrote it for a Cleveland compilation in early 2000, and just kept working on it and working on it. For some reason we hate playing the song live, but love it in practice and all the times we have recorded it. The version on "P.O.O.E." is a lot different then the original demos only in the sense that it is finally the way the song is meant to sound. The ending is one of our favorite parts in all of our songs.

» Rizzo
We wrote this song with a friend, and lyrically it deals with peolpe who think they can do anything while under the influence.

» Sphere
Another track from our EP. This time around we slowed it down a bit to sound tighter and to bring some new dynamics to the record. We also extended the ending to really shake some bowels for an added bonus. This song deals with being in love with two peolpe at the same time and not having the slightest clue what to do about it.

» Forced Life
This song was created as a reponse to repeated disappointed we felt by recent recordings by many of our favorite bands.

» Options
Yes, Mark sings the entire song. This was not a song that the label made us do. We wanted to have some diversity to the record and we felt that we wanted to prove to the listener that we can write a really heavy song and vocally attack you with melody rather then extreme anger.

» Jade
Aghh the epic closer.
